Excerpt from the mail sent to all the major News papers and the television channels in the city:

I don't know whether to cry or to get angry seeing the pathetic state of Bengalooru's Lakes. One such example is the Ulsoor Lake near M.G.Road, Bengalooru. The current state of the lake is really very bad. It is not only hazardous to the life in and near Ulsoor lake but also is a Black mark to the city of lakes.

I just can't understand why people just throw anything and everything into this and other lakes without thinking twice about what may happen to the nature. In the pictures attached, one can see so many plastic covers (from milk cartons to Potato chips' bags). If this continues, then the Govt. should ban people from entering the lake's premises or a heavy fine should be levied on those who make the lake poisonous. Moreover after the last week's Summer showers the state of the lake has become worse. The drain water has got mixed with the clean water and the lake waters colour has turned GREEN!

BCC had cleaned Ulsoor lake just 6 years back (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/2106698330.cms) with the help of Madras Sappers, but today if one sees the same lake it is very sad.

Please help and/or do something good about all the lakes and esp. Ulsoor lake. I see this lake every day/night and I just can't take the bad that is happening to this lake anymore.

Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man

The quality of education that a student gets in this world is gradually deteriorating and, may be someday we may find the word Education merely in the dictionaries or in some books only!!! What is the reason for this? Who is responsible? Can this be corrected?

The teachers often complain that students don't listen to their words. Parents complain that their children don't study well. Students complain that it's boring to sit in the class and just listen to the 'printed words'. And here comes a question : Whose fault is it anyway?

During the olden days in India, there were these Gurukulas, where the students were left with the Guru until ones education got completed. The pupil used to learn whatever Guru taught him! Other that teaching, Gurus used to inspire their pupils, lead them in a correct way. And thus the students used to reach the summit almost with no difficulty.

These days the word quantity has been more emphasized than the word quality. A teacher asks a pupil how much more money can he pay than the last one and tells him that much good teaching he gets. And this is the reason why we can see the mushrooming of tutorials and educational institutions in every nuke & corner of the city. Also, it has become much easier for the rich to get through the examinations by just paying some extra money and also any kind of certificates and marks cards can be bought from the market.

A Bad Teacher just speaks
An Average teacher just teaches
A good teacher just preaches but never practices
But an Excellent teacher inspires & leads his pupil in the right path.

It has been told that Home is first school. Mother is the first teacher. Nowadays how many children get to spend quality time with their parents? The parents just want to earn money, because they think with money anything can be done even though their inner soul never accepts this. This leads to blind education of the children at home. Since, the children don't get to be nurtured under the guidance of their parents, they start concentrating on something that is artificial soothing and stress relieving but very dangerous such as drugs, cigarettes, alcohol etc. or may even get affected by some psychological diseases such as depression.

A teacher or parents often scold the younger ones that they are fools instead of saying that the work they are doing is foolish. And the latter ones often end up being fools. Thus the well-versed and experienced ones fail in correcting their wards' weakness. Instead of showing the silver lining that will be there in the dark cloud only the darkness is showed to the children. And it is very obvious that they believe the world is filled with darkness alone.

Seldom we see that a person had got a very good teacher, loving parents, admiring and caring brethren but still he had become a black spot in the society. Why does this happen?

Very often teenagers miss the route and step into path-holes thinking them to be shortcuts to a different world. This is the age when one thinks that whatever he does is right and all others are just hypocrites. We can also see some people following a completely different culture which is confusing and not-understandable and far from reach. The main reason for this are the modern day cinemas and westernization. It is shown these films that life's just piece of cake and with a .35 revolver, a fast car and with money anything and everything can be obtained. For someone who is more an uneducated than illiterate, this seems to be the easiest way to live and often follows the same, but at last ends up being nothing but a biz Zero and a great loss to the nation.

Our producers and directors should be more careful with this. Instead of just shooting a film over some thingamajigs, they can make the same educative and thought provoking. Everyone should grow the habit of thinking and correcting oneself than just blaming someone for whatever has happened to them.

The man who offers an insult writes in the sand but the one who receives it is chiseled in the bronze...

No student these days needs just education, also along with it some entertainment - i.e., edutainment. In other words, the modern education should be a right mixture of learning plus enjoying. Every individual of a country should get quality education over quantity education. It should not become a business of give-and-take between the student and the teacher instead a win of the good over the bad.

Not all of them are born to lean. Some of them do excellently well when lead by someone. So, teachers and parents and wise people should lead the rest for the benefit of their own and of their country. Do not just copy others without evaluating and practically thinking whether the same can be applied in their's own life's too.

ORIGIN of the word SHIT

Manure: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again of which a by-product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles, you can see what could (and did) happen.

Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM! Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term "Ship High In Transit" on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the
hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T " , (Ship High In Transport) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day. You probably did not know the true history of this word.

Neither did I. :-) I had always thought it was my manager's work description.

After some time and going through thousands of pages that was recorded about me and considering much more cases Chithra Gupta whispered something in Yama's ear. And after few moments of silence and deep thinking Yama said

"Dear child I am sorry you were very good in your childhood days and were everyone's favourite but as you grew up you had given pain to others and were involved in many crimes. You had fought against the government for the cancellation of the reservation quota system back in India for the OBCs and SC/STs. Because of this the other category people got killed by these RQ men and women. That was the biggest mistake of your life and ya shall be severly punished for this. You will be put into hell, but, it is not right now as the quota for you intelligent and hard-working people is over for this year and you shall be considered with high priority for the next year's. Now you go back to earth and send those people who have influenced even Devathas to implement the quota system in here. I love them very much and shall want to meet them soon..." I was hit on the head and sent back here, to earth, to suffer more...

Why the hell all this happens in India, in the GODS's country. Why dont people understand that by implementing the reservation system they are digging their own grave - by not improvising and making themselves remain backward for centuries to come... Men and Women from India please understand that by reservation, you will not get any respect. If you ask for concessions in the fees, then we are ready but if you are dumb and still want to get into the best colleges then @#$% ^&*

The Way Technology Exasperates People .

AST technical support had a caller complaining that her mouse was hard to control with the dust cover on. The cover turned out to be the plastic bag the mouse was packaged in.

Compaq is considering changing the command "Press Any Key" to "Press Return Key" because of the flood of calls asking where the "Any" key is.

Another Dell customer called to say he couldn't get his computer to fax anything. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting, the technician discovered the man
was trying to fax a piece of paper by holding it in front of the monitor screen and hitting the "Send" key.

Yet another, Dell customer called to complain that his keyboard no longer worked. He had cleaned it by filling up his tub with soap and water and soaking the keyboard for a day, then removing all the keys and washing them individually.

A Dell technician received a call from a customer who was enraged because his computer had told him he was "bad and invalid." The tech explained that the computer's "bad command" and "invalid" responses ..... shouldn't be taken personally.

A confused caller to IBM was having trouble printing documents He
told the technician that the computer had said it "couldn't find
printer." The user had also tried turning the computer screen to face
the printer -- but that his computer still couldn't "see" the printer.

An exasperated caller to Dell Computer Tech Support couldn't get
her new Dell Computer to turn on. After ensuring the computer was
plugged in, the technician asked her what happened when she pushed the
power button. Her response, "I pushed and pushed on this foot pedal and nothing happens."
The "foot pedal" turned out to be the computer's mouse.

Another customer called Compaq tech support to say her brand new computer wouldn't work. She said she unpacked the unit, plugged it in and sat there for 20 minutes waiting for something to happen. When asked what happened when she pressed the power switch, she asked, "What power switch?"

Another IBM customer had trouble installing software and rang for support. "I put in the first disk, and that was OK. It said to put in the second disk, and had some problems with the disk. When it said to put in the third disk, I couldn't even fit it in." The user hadn't realized that "Insert Disk 2" implied to- remove Disk 1 first.

A woman called the Canon help desk with a problem with her printer.

The tech asked her if she was "running it under windows."
The woman responded, "No, my desk is next to the door. But that is a
good point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window
and his printer is working fine."

SAFER EMAILING

This excellent message ABSOLUTELY applies to ALL of us who send e-mails. Read
the text below:

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% do NOT.

Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it? Every time you
forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the
message before you, namely their e-mail addresses and names. As the messages
get forwarded along, the list of names and addresses builds, and builds, and
builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her
computer can send that virus to every e-mail address that has come across his
computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send
junk mail to them in the hope that you will go to the site and he will make
five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel!

How do you stop it? Well, there are two easy steps:

(1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in
the body of the message. That's right, DELETE them. Highlight them and delete
them, backspace them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only
takes a second. You MUST click the ?Forward" button first; then you will have
full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message. If you
don't click on "Forward" first, you won't be able to edit the message at all.

(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or
Cc: columns for adding e-mail addresses. Always use the BCC: (Blind Carbon
Copy) column for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way that people
?you send to? only see their own e-mail address. If you don't see your BCC
option, click on where it says To: and your address list will appear. Highlight
the address and choose BCC: and that's it, it's that easy. When you send to BCC:
your message will automatically say ?Undisclosed Recipients? in the "TO:"
field of the people who receive it.

So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses!

The Perfect 10...

I got up feeling elated. It was a different kind of feeling and I had never felt like that ever before. It was 6:00 in the morning and it was too early for a software engineer on a holiday. But I had no qualms as I was feeling like never before. I looked at myself in the mirror and I was looking young and had all my hairs on my head about which I had just dreamt of in all these years, I have no wrinkles on my face and my eyes beautiful, a perfect nose, teeth, ears and lips. Now I am the handsome man on earth (so much so that I can now attract more girls than a cube of sugar will ever attract ants.). The day is perfect and so am I. It gave me immense pleasure but also it sent a shock down my spines. How on earth can all this happen to me in just one night? I tried to remember if I had been granted a boon by the almighty. I took the morning newspaper and lo… no bad news. No news about any murders, rapes, terrorism, scams, nothing. I pinched myself to come out of the dream but it just gave me a pain and showed me that all was true...

I thought of going out for a walk but the very thought made me look sad but later made up my mind and stepped outside and saw the un-believable - the air was clear with no pollution, the place was filled with pure living green, more than anything else my childhood dream of listening to the chirping of the birds had finally come true. I could hear all kinds of birds chirping away to glory. I thought, in spite of getting such a marvelous gift for the 28th birthday (even though I looked 50 year old just yesterday), how could the world under all given circumstances become such a livable place. No more ideas about going to Mars or to the distant planet. Gaya has at last listened to mine and prayers from million others from all over the earth and I have been gifted with something that everybody hoped they could just see somebody being in that (sorry this) kind of a world.

I returned home and switched on radio and tuned into AIR (AIR means All India Radio for all of you who just remember the two letters F and M). The news reader just spoke about all the good that politicians had done and/or planning to do in the near future. Not a single politician has been involved in any scam and they are living with what little salary they get because of their service to the people. Yes, I heard it right it was "TO THE PEOPLE". The radio also sang about the achievements India and the world has been making in reaching peace even to the outer space... The countries are living in harmony by following the same policy "SHARE WHAT GOOD YOU HAVE AND LEARN FROM THE BETTER WHAT OTHERS HAVE AND FORGET EVEN THINKING ABOUT THE BAD"

Later in the day I was shocked to see people (even those who are strangers) being very polite and more friendlier than my friends who all these years just spoke of and had just promised about being my very good friends. The smallest being was also treated like a king. The line that was drawn long back by some bunch of idiots and was carried off by lot many talented idiots were erased in just one night's time. No more could anyone see anybody else starving to death. There was enough food and money and clothes to share with all my peers... Yes it’s "PEERS" because everybody is equal.

Wow!!! This was the world that I ever wanted to live in. These are the kind of people whom I wanted to call my friends my relatives my neighbours. Now people cannot see animals in Zoos as they have been sent to their homes the way we are in ours. The animals and even plants and trees have equal freedom. No matter what we are and where we are this was the sweetest thing that anybody could ever wish to possess in his/her lifetime.

I had thought of
Being a perfect human, having perfect neighbours, relatives, friends and everybody else, being served by the perfect politicians & the obvious perfect government, living in the perfect environment, the perfectly pure love from everyone to the rest of them, being a perfect citizen of the perfect country. Today it seemed to me that it is picture perfect and if anybody could rate the picture, it shall be a perfect 10. God you are the perfect creator and I am the luckiest to get so much on this perfect day...

May the world remain the same forever...

One morning at a doctors surgery a patient arrives complaining of serious back-pain. The doctor examines him and asks him" OK, what happened to your back?"

The patient replies "You know that I work for a local night club? This morning I got home to my apartment early and heard a noise in my bedroom. On entering I knew someone had been with my wife and the balcony door was open. I rushed out the balcony door and did not find anyone. As I looked down from the balcony I saw a man running out and he was dressing himself. I grabbed the fridge and threw it at him,That's how I strained my back"

The 2nd patient arrives looking as if he has been in a car wreck. The doctor said "My previous patient looked bad, but you look terrible.What the hell happened to you?"

He replied, "You know I have been unemployed for a while now .Today was the first day at my new job. I forgot to set my alarm and was running late. I was running out of the building, getting dressed at the same time, and you won't believe it but I was hit by a fridge."

The 3rd patient arrives; he looks even worse than the other two patients do. The doctor is shocked. Again asks, "What the hell happened to youuuuuu.....?"

France is burning.The poor rioted a few backs and now the students and the labour class are on the streets lighting up the Paris sky line like never before.The French Government seems to lack little ideas about how to control such riots.(Somebody please tell them, protesting is as difficult a art as french Kiss)

The news is my folks - The French government has contacted the Indian Outsourcing industry to enquire about officially outsourcing the riots to Ind!a , the nation of a thousand rebellions.Cheers....

The Indian Outsourcing Commitee has not officialy confirmed this news.Boo.....

However The French Interior security ministry has strongly suggested for on open bid across all developing countries for the Riots Outsourcing Contract(ROC).But Laxmi Mittal has strongly suggested that the french should opt for the tried and tested Indian Model of outsourcing. It is rumoured in fact that he has offered to pull away from the hostile bid for French steel giant Arcelor if France offers this contract to Ind!a.Cheers......

On the Indian sides however competetion is hotting up among the top competitors for the contract.Several State governments are offering sops to the French Riots Committe to come and see their folks rioting.But the strongest contender seems to be Bihar, as claimed by "billu Bihari" who officialy organises all riots and clashes in Bihar.But there are other strong contenders. From Mumbai-Underworld 'munna bhai' , "Big Momma" from Chennai and a million other small towns in Ind!a. Bangalore on the other hand seems to be left behind except for some token 'Sons of Soil' protests by mannina maga Deve Gowda.

Anyway as the contenders and pretenders warm up with a few protests the french or any other country will be hard pressed to match the Indians in their riots and protests.The Indians promise to come up with a colorful but cheap ways of protesting.To know more just keep plugged into this blog...
